Causes We Care About

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) has been taking the lives of our youth, loved-ones, friends, co-workers for far too long. This disease is a genetic disease that affects primarily the lungs and eventually other organs as well. Bacteria causes mucus to build up in the lungs making it difficult to breathe. The immune system is constantly under attack making every time a Cystic Fibrosis patient gets sick, a life or death situation. I will never forget the day I was sitting in the youth room at my new church listening to a brave mother share about their family’s war against CF and finding out that the cute little kid I met in while volunteering for the VBS the previous week, had to fight for his life daily. Of course, you can read about things, see videos, ect., but when a mother is standing in front of you sharing personally about this abhorrent disease, the struggle becomes yours too. Since then, I have known a number of families who are fighting against CF. Some of them have lost their loved-ones already, some are battling not to come to that point too quickly, some are even hoping, planning for a future, but ALL of them are fighting. Fighting to make CF stand for Cure Found. Stand with these brave men and women and fight beside them.
